    江蘇江威齒輪箱制造有限公司（起源于常州市江威減速機制造有限公司）始建于二OO二年十月十一日，是一家致力于技術、設計、開發、生產、機電化經營一體的綜合性企業，公司注重人才、技術、管理的新理念，重視對企業的內在素質和企業管理水平的提高，先后進行了企業的員工培訓與學習。2004年在全國同行業率先通過了ISO9001質量體系認證，獲國家一級計量合格單位，同年在國家工商總局也注冊了中國•江威品牌，三個商標①國內商標權；②國內漢字商標權；③出口商標權等

  隨著業務的發展，在2006年新建立了江蘇江威齒輪箱有限公司，2006年7月公司在常州市附近，江陰市璜土開發區征用了50畝土地，3.33萬平方米，已建設完工投入使用的廠房6598平方米，在建工程16000平方米廠房，2007年9月全部建設完工，公司擁有固定資產1.26億元人民幣，在職員工500人，各類專業技術人員120人，擁有各類設備500臺，其中世界先進的德國產磨齒機10臺，韓國產加工中心7臺，日本產先進的復合式加工中心6臺，其它數控設備10臺，國產大型滾齒機3臺，數控機床2臺，普通機床12臺，大型鏜、銑床3臺，及一批普通設備等等，在國內同行中，是一家擁有設備、技術、產品等的中型企業。公司產品為塑料、橡膠、礦山、煤礦、起重、冶金、鋼鐵、塑膠、港口、水利、油田等等相配套，也可根據用戶的要求，設計非標減速機。

2007年3月為加快企業制度改革、改組，建立“產權明晰，權責明確，科學管理”的符合市場經濟的新機制，增強企業活力，推動企業持續穩定發展，公司全資控股，并收購了無錫市遠宇機床制造有限公司，占地66.3畝，廠房面積2.3萬平方米，以機床制造，數控機床為主，全面提升了企業經濟實力，增強企業核心競爭力和抗風險能力，拓展了發展空間， 為企業實現跨越性發展提供了良好的平臺
